National Immunization Conference (NIC)
Brings together a wide variety of local, state, federal, and private-sector immunization partners to explore science, policy, education, and planning issues related to immunization in general and vaccine-preventable disease.

National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW)
Annual observance to promote the benefits of immunizations and to focus on the importance of immunizing infants against vaccine-preventable diseases by age two.

National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW)
This event highlights the importance of continuing influenza (flu) vaccination through the winter months and beyond.

National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM)
Communities are encouraged to plan local health screenings or fairs, media events and other related immunization outreach efforts during the month of August to promote the benefits of immunization.

Polio Vaccine--50th Anniversary
April 12, 2005, marks the 50th anniversary of the first polio vaccine. Learn more about this important event in history and the exhibit and the National Smithsonian Institute.
